Dr. Alan M. Spiwak is manager of Southwestern Bag Company, a family business, and is a licensed psychologist. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Jewish Free Loan Association, and is a past president. He serves on the Board of the Builders of Jewish Education (BJE) as treasurer, chair of the Planning and Budget Committee, co-chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, and is a member of its Investment Committee. Having participated in three BJE “March of the Living” journeys, Alan and his wife, Sheila, have also enabled more teens to share in this profound, life-changing Jewish educational experience. Dr. Spiwak serves on the Education Pillar of the Jewish Federation, as well as several task forces, and previously chaired the committee that funds Israel programming for youth. He is a trustee of the Pressman Academy at Temple Beth Am, and is a member of its Educational Cabinet. He also serves on Temple Beth Am’s Personnel Committee. Dr. Spiwak earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1982. He and his wife, Sheila, have two children.
