Selwyn Gerber is an economist, CPA and investment advisor. He is the managing director of Gerber & Co Inc., a full-service CPA firm which is an independent BDO Alliance member and focuses primarily on providing accounting, tax and wealth advisory services to affluent families and family businesses. The firm has a concentration in real estate taxation and inter-generational transition, and provides family office service to the affluent. He is also a founding member of RVW Investing LLC, wealth advisors using a low cost index-based asset allocation model combined with secure bonds. Selwyn serves as chair of The Foundation’s Israel Grants Committee. Mr. Gerber is a Wexner Heritage fellow; a founding member of the Academy for Jewish Religion, a post-denominational seminary training rabbis, cantors and chaplains; and a founding funder of LimmudLA. After serving as a board and Executive Committee member at Beth Jacob Congregation, Mr. Gerber remains an active member of the congregation, as well as Pacific Jewish Center in Venice. He is a founding member of the Bridge School, a non-profit organization in the Bay Area that serves severely handicapped children by transitioning them from the sheltered, protective, remedial environment to a mainstream school. He received his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon (the international economics honors society). He and his wife, Glynis, have four married children and ten grandchildren and live in Beverlywood.
