Jonathan Cookler is president of Avalon Investment Company, a real estate development and property management firm which he established in 1983. Mr. Cookler has always been active in Jewish communal work and has served as a chair of various committees at the Jewish Federation, including current chair of the Finance Committee, chair of Planning and Allocations in 2001-2003, and previously chair of the Council on Jewish Life and the Educational Grants Committee. He also served as president of Valley Alliance of the Jewish Federation. Currently, Mr. Cookler is a member of the Board of Trustees at Valley Beth Shalom and the regional board of the Anti-Defamation League. Mr. Cookler received his bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting, a master's of business administration, and a law degree, all from UCLA. He is a licensed real estate broker, general contractor and a member of the California Bar Association. He and his wife, Faith, have two children and live in Tarzana.
